The Federal Government has commenced the first tranche of payments under its Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Initiative, marking a key milestone in the program aimed at empowering young Nigerians with practical skills.

Over 42,000 students have received a monthly stipend of ₦22,500 to cover their upkeep and transportation, while more than 600 independent vocational centres have been funded for their instructional and training services. President Tinubu believes that equipping our youth with in-demand, practical skills is the fastest way to drive job creation, entrepreneurship, and national economic growth.”

Since its launch in May, the TVET Initiative has progressed swiftly from registration to hands-on vocational training, and the timely disbursement of funds is critical to sustaining this momentum. Additional tranches are expected in the coming months, underscoring the program’s long-term commitment to youth empowerment and national development.
