LAUTECH Expands Leadership, Creates Third Deputy Vice-Chancellor Office

The Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, has established a third Deputy Vice-Chancellor (DVC) position and restructured its existing DVC offices as part of efforts to strengthen institutional leadership, improve operational efficiency and drive academic innovation.

The decision followed the approval of the University Senate, which endorsed the creation of the office of Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Management and Operations, alongside the redesignation of the two existing DVC portfolios to reflect the institution’s evolving priorities.

The newly approved offices are:

1. Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic and Innovation;
2. Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Management and Operations; and
3. Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Development and Partnerships.

Speaking on the development, the Registrar, Mrs. Olayinka Balogun, said the restructuring was aimed at aligning LAUTECH’s leadership structure with its vision of promoting excellence in teaching, research and global collaboration.

She said the new roles would provide focused leadership in critical areas, ensuring that the University remains competitive and responsive to the demands of modern higher education.

According to her, the initiative reflects the University’s commitment to building a dynamic governance structure that supports innovation, operational effectiveness and sustainable partnerships.

At its meeting on Monday, August 3, 2026, the University’s Governing Council approved the election of three professors to occupy the restructured positions.

Professor Dahud O. Araromi was elected Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic and Innovation; Professor Adepoju T. Ogunkunle was elected Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Management and Operations; while Professor Lukman A. Sunmonu was elected Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Development and Partnerships.
