Federal University Lokoja Students Win CIPM North Central Inter-University Quiz

Two 300-level Economics students of the Federal University Lokoja (FUL), Halimah Ibrahim Yusuf and Ubeke Mary Oyeye, have emerged winners of the North Central regional edition of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) Inter-University Regional Quiz Competition.

Two 300-level Economics students of the Federal University Lokoja (FUL), Halimah Ibrahim Yusuf and Ubeke Mary Oyeye, have emerged winners of the North Central regional edition of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) Inter-University Regional Quiz Competition.

The students, led by their patron and Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Dr. Isa Aminu, represented FUL at the competition, which brought together students from universities across the North Central region to test their knowledge and understanding of human resource management.

Halimah Ibrahim Yusuf and Ubeke Mary Oyeye demonstrated strong knowledge, teamwork and composure throughout the competition, ultimately securing victory for the University.

The regional contest ended in a tie between Federal University Lokoja and the University of Ilorin, necessitating a tie-breaker round. The FUL representatives prevailed in the decisive round, securing first position and earning the right to represent the North Central region at the national level.

At the national competition, six universities representing the different geographical zones of Nigeria competed for the overall title. Although the FUL team did not finish among the top three at the national stage, their qualification and participation represented a significant achievement and reflected the students' hard work, knowledge and intellectual ability.

Following their success, the students, once again led by Dr. Isa Aminu, paid a visit to the University Management to formally present the award.

The award was presented to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Gbenga Solomon Ibileye, as a symbol of the students' achievement and an acknowledgement of the University's support.

The achievement further highlights the academic excellence, intellectual capacity and competitive spirit of Federal University Lokoja students, while demonstrating the University's growing participation in inter-university academic competitions.
