FUNAAB Muslim Community Honours 22 Retired Staff for Dedicated Service

The Muslim Community of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), has honoured 22 retired Muslim staff members in recognition of their years of dedicated service and contributions to the development of the University and the Muslim Community.

The Muslim Community of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), has honoured 22 retired Muslim staff members in recognition of their years of dedicated service and contributions to the development of the University and the Muslim Community.

Speaking at the event, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, represented by the former Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine (COLVET), Prof. Adebayo Akinloye, urged the retirees to remain grateful to Allah and use their retirement years to continue serving Allah and humanity.

The Vice-Chancellor noted that the University would continue to appreciate and remember the retirees for their positive contributions to the growth and development of FUNAAB.

He encouraged the retirees to see retirement as an opportunity to mentor younger people and contribute meaningfully to society by making use of the wealth of experience and knowledge they had acquired over the years.

Earlier, the Executive Director of the Nigerian Stored Products Research Institute (NSPRI) and the Amir of the FUNAAB Muslim Community, Prof. Lateef Sanni, represented by the Naibul Amir, Prof. Adesina Agboola, explained that the recognition ceremony had been delayed due to the ongoing construction of the University Mosque.

The Amir congratulated the retirees for their contributions to the development of the University and the Muslim Community, while appreciating the Muslim Welfare Committee for successfully organising the event.

In his admonition, the Chief Imam, Prof. Idris Ayinde, represented by the Deputy Chief Imam and the Director of the Institute of Human Resources Development (INHURD), Prof. Sheriff Adewuyi, congratulated the retirees and urged them to remain grateful to Allah for the opportunity to serve and be recognised for their contributions.

The Chief Imam encouraged the retirees to strengthen their relationship with Allah and prayed for their continued good health, mercy and blessings.

The event culminated in the presentation of honours to the 22 retirees in recognition of their service and contributions to FUNAAB and the Muslim Community.
