Crescent University, Abeokuta, has secured approval from the National Universities Commission (NUC) to commence a Bachelor of Science (BSc) programme in Artificial Intelligence from the 2026/2027 academic session.

The approval was contained in a letter issued by the NUC on September 11, 2026, and addressed to the Vice-Chancellor of Crescent University, Professor Ibraheem Gbajabiamila.

The letter was signed by the Director of Academic Planning of the NUC, Abubakar M. Girei, on behalf of the Executive Secretary of the Commission.

The approval followed a resource verification visit conducted earlier in the year by a panel of experts who assessed the human and material resources available at the university for the proposed programme.

The latest academic approval is part of Crescent University’s broader commitment to producing graduates equipped with the knowledge and skills required to meet the demands of the modern economy.

The commencement of the BSc Artificial Intelligence programme in the 2026/2027 academic session will expand the university’s academic portfolio and further support its vision of promoting academic and moral excellence.
