The University of Uyo (UNIUYO) has commenced the distribution of academic gowns, hoods and caps to postgraduate graduands ahead of its 31st and 32nd Combined Convocation Ceremony scheduled for November 2 to 7, 2026.
In a notice issued by the Postgraduate School through the Office of the Secretary on Thursday, October 15, 2026, the university announced that the academic materials were ready for collection by graduands who had paid the prescribed convocation charges.
According to the notice, eligible graduands must present the following documents at the collection point:
- The original copy of their convocation payment receipt.
- A photocopy of a valid means of identification, either a student identity card or National Identification Number (NIN).
The university warned graduands against giving money to anyone claiming to facilitate the collection of academic gowns, hoods and caps on their behalf.

It emphasised that collection must be carried out personally, as no individual is permitted to collect the materials for another graduand.
The Postgraduate School further stated that distribution would be conducted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Graduands have therefore been advised to comply with the requirements and make the necessary arrangements to collect their academic materials ahead of the combined convocation ceremony.
The notice was signed by Udoro Udo Ekpo, Secretary of the University of Uyo Postgraduate School.
