UNIPORT VC Charges Staff, Students to Uphold Transparency, Shun Corruption

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt, Professor Chike Princewill, has charged members of the University community to embrace transparency, accountability and integrity in the discharge of their responsibilities.

Professor Princewill gave the charge on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, when he received a delegation from the Rivers and Bayelsa State Office of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), led by the Resident Anti-Corruption Commissioner, Dr. Ekere Usiere, on a courtesy visit.

The ICPC delegation congratulated Professor Princewill on his appointment as Vice-Chancellor and expressed its commitment to building stronger and more effective relationships with staff and students of the University to promote ethical conduct.

Responding, Professor Princewill thanked the delegation for identifying with his administration and noted that transparency and accountability would remain central to the governance of the University.

The Vice-Chancellor urged staff and students to reject corrupt practices and conduct themselves responsibly, stressing that the collective commitment of the University community is essential to building a system founded on integrity, trust and accountability.
