UNIMED Don, Prof. Edozien Appointed to Wigwe University Governing Council

The Dean of the Faculty of Health Law and Humanities at the University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED), Ondo, Professor Leroy Edozien, has been appointed as one of five new members of the Governing Council of Wigwe University.

The appointment marks another milestone in Professor Edozien’s academic career and recognises his contributions to scholarship, medical education and the intersection of health, law and the humanities.

Professor Edozien, a scholar in health law and related fields, is expected to bring his academic and professional experience to the council as Wigwe University continues to develop its higher education programmes.

Reacting to the appointment, the Vice-Chancellor of UNIMED, Professor Ebunoluwa Adejuyigbe, congratulated Professor Edozien, describing the appointment as recognition of his intellectual depth, professional accomplishments and commitment to advancing scholarship.

She expressed confidence that his experience and expertise would contribute meaningfully to the governance and development of Wigwe University and wished him a successful tenure.

Professor Edozien’s appointment also represents recognition of the academic expertise of professionals emerging from UNIMED, Nigeria’s specialised medical university.
