The week-long competition, sponsored by the Taiwo Adelakun Foundation, took place from May 16 to 23, 2026, and featured participation from Dominion University, Precious Cornerstone University, First Technical University, and McPherson University.
The institution’s athletes delivered a consistent and disciplined performance throughout the tournament, culminating in their emergence as overall winners of the games.
In recognition of the achievement, team captain Orji Gospel Ebuka presented the championship trophy to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Francis Igbasan, during a formal visit to the university.
The sports delegation was led by the Coordinator of Sports, Mr. Olutayo Balogun, who commended the athletes for their resilience, discipline, and determination, noting that the victory reflects the institution’s increasing investment in sporting excellence and student development.
Receiving the trophy, Professor Igbasan congratulated the team for bringing honour to the university through their performance. He described the victory as a clear outcome of preparation, teamwork, and commitment to excellence.

The Vice-Chancellor also reaffirmed management’s commitment to sustained investment in sports and extracurricular development, emphasizing their role in shaping leadership capacity, discipline, and holistic student growth.
