McPherson University has officially received its Certificate of Registration from the National Health Research Ethics Committee (NHREC), marking a key milestone in the institution’s commitment to ethical compliance and research integrity in health sciences.

The certificate was formally presented to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Francis Igbasan, by Professor Ademola Ajuwon during a brief ceremony attended by members of the university management team, the Chairperson of the committee, Professor Lucy Airauhi, and other stakeholders involved in the process.
Speaking at the presentation, Professor Ajuwon commended the university for its responsiveness and commitment during the training and registration process. He noted that the speed of completion—beginning training in April and securing certification by May—was uncommon and reflected strong institutional seriousness and administrative efficiency.
He further emphasized that adherence to ethical standards in research is critical to building credibility in health and scientific studies, adding that the certification would enhance McPherson University’s capacity for high-quality, regulated research output.
Receiving the certificate on behalf of the institution, Vice-Chancellor Professor Francis Igbasan expressed appreciation to the committee leadership and facilitators for their guidance throughout the process. He reaffirmed the university’s commitment to maintaining strict ethical standards in all research activities.

Professor Igbasan also assured stakeholders that the institution would continue to provide the necessary support, infrastructure, and enabling environment to strengthen research ethics governance and promote excellence in academic research at McPherson University.
