The visit, which took place on April 9, 2026, at the hospital’s boardroom, featured discussions centered on institutional harmony, leadership, and contributions to medical advancement in Nigeria.
Speaking during the visit, Dr. Omotola Obajolowo, who led the MDCAN delegation, expressed appreciation to the management of UCH for the warm reception accorded the team. He commended the leadership style of the Chief Medical Director, Professor Jesse Abiodun Otegbayo, noting that his administration has promoted peace, stability, and effective service delivery within the hospital despite operational pressures.
Dr. Obajolowo also acknowledged the contributions of Professor Wuraola Adebola Shokunbi to MDCAN and the broader medical profession, particularly in the field of haematology, describing her as a key figure in advancing healthcare development in Nigeria.
In his response, the Chief Medical Director of UCH, Professor Otegbayo, welcomed the MDCAN South West delegation and appreciated their recognition of Professor Shokunbi’s professional contributions and impact on healthcare administration.
