Mekelle University Art Academy Shares Magic of Live Theater with Local School Children

The Arts Academy of Mekelle University has staged a double-featured live theater performance at Dagm Amsal Kindergarten and Elementary School, bringing the arts directly into the local educational environment.

The initiative is part of the Academy's strategic community outreach program, designed to provide early childhood cultural enrichment and foster a love for performing arts from an early age.

The outreach featured two distinct children’s plays, each curated to match the cognitive and emotional development stages of the different student age groups.

By taking the productions out of the university lecture halls and directly into the primary school setting, the Arts Academy effectively bridged academic artistic training with practical grassroots community impact. School administrators and teachers praised the interactive initiative, noting that exposure to live performance enhances young learners' imagination, language acquisition, and social engagement.
