Murtala Muhammed Foundation Offers Fully Funded Scholarship for African Women in STEM

The Murtala Muhammed Foundation, in partnership with the Africa Science Academy, has announced a fully funded scholarship program for exceptional African women pursuing undergraduate studies in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields at universities across Africa.

 

The scholarship, which is part of the foundation's efforts to promote education and empowerment of women in Africa, offers a comprehensive package covering full tuition fees, on-campus accommodation, living expenses, comprehensive medical insurance, and annual paid internship opportunities.

To be eligible, applicants must be female African citizens aged 16-19 years old, have completed secondary school by July 2024, and achieve a grade of A or B in Physics and Mathematics in their WAEC or equivalent examinations. They must also demonstrate a strong interest and aptitude for STEM fields.

 

The application process involves completing an online application form and uploading required documents, including academic transcripts, passport photographs, essays, and a letter of recommendation from a math or science teacher.
