The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has disbursed more than N489 million in student loans to support the academic pursuits of students at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Oyo State.
The announcement was made via NELFUND’s official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Friday, detailing three separate disbursement phases aimed at alleviating financial burdens and ensuring wider access to education for Nigerian students.
According to the statement, NELFUND released the funds in the following tranches:

N8.67 million to 52 students on September 5, 2024.

N83.916 million to 666 students on November 1, 2024.

N397.152 million to 1,553 students on March 5, 2025.
The loan scheme is part of the government’s broader mission to promote equitable access to higher education across Nigeria, as established under the Student Loans (Access to Higher Education) Act of 2024. The phased disbursement approach highlights a strategic effort to address the evolving financial needs of students throughout the academic year.
NELFUND reaffirmed its commitment to supporting students, stating, “We remain dedicated to ensuring Nigerian students can access quality education without financial hindrances.”
The initiative aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritizes education as a cornerstone for national development. By disbursing a total of N489,738,000 to 2,271 LAUTECH students, NELFUND continues to play a vital role in empowering students and fostering academic excellence in Nigeria.
