NELFUND visited Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University and Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, urging South East students to apply for student loans and emphasizing the importance of timely data submission for smooth disbursement.

In its effort to broaden educational access, the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) visited Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University in Anambra State and the Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, Imo State, on Thursday. The sensitization program, organized in partnership with the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), aimed to promote the NELFUND Student Loan Scheme and support students facing financial barriers.

Mr. Akintunde Sawyerr, Managing Director/CEO of NELFUND, emphasized the importance of the loan scheme in overcoming financial obstacles to education. He highlighted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to ensuring equitable access to education across Nigeria and urged South East students to apply for loans covering both tuition and living expenses.

Addressing issues of loan disbursement delays, Sawyerr stressed the need for timely and accurate submission of student data by institutions to facilitate smooth loan processing. He reassured students that NELFUND is dedicated to supporting every eligible student, particularly in the South East.
