Niger State Government budgets for upgrade of NYSC camp
The Niger State Government says it has made provision for the upgrade of the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Paiko, in its supplementary budget.
The Deputy Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Muhammad Ketso, made the disclosure when he received the Director General of the Scheme, Brigadier General Muhammad Fadah, who paid a courtesy visit to the Government House, Minna.
He said the administration was aware of the need to create a congenial environment for the conduct of Orientation Course just as it would ensure the welfare of Corps Members.
Ketso praised the existing cordial relationship between the NYSC and the State Government while also appreciating the Scheme’s participation in state functions, including the last Independence Anniversary parade.
He assured that the State Government would continue to support and add value to the Scheme.
Earlier, Fadah had told the Deputy Governor that the condition of the Orientation Camp, being the first point of call for Corps Members deployed to the State, would leave a lasting impression on them.
He, therefore, appealed to the State Government to redeem its pledge and expedite action on the upgrade of the facility.
The Director General also requested the administration to assist in the general renovation of the NYSC State Secretariat complex.
