The funds have been allocated to institutions based on their academic calendars, with plans to disburse to other institutions at the start of their sessions to ensure fair and transparent distribution
The management of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has announced the disbursement of N1.17 billion to 20,000 students across various institutions in the country. The Managing Director of NELFUND, Akintunde Sawyerr, revealed this during a press conference in Abuja on Wednesday.
The funds have been allocated to institutions based on their academic calendars, with plans to disburse to other institutions at the start of their sessions to ensure fair and transparent distribution. This financial aid aims to alleviate the financial burden on students, allowing them to concentrate on their studies.
In addition to covering tuition fees, the agency will also provide upkeep stipends to the beneficiaries, with payments scheduled to begin next week. The initiative is part of NELFUND's commitment to investing in the future of Nigeria by supporting the educational pursuits of its students.
