Nollywood Star Femi Adebayo Commits ₦1 Million and Film Roles to Dramatic Arts Students

A-list Nollywood actor and filmmaker Femi Adebayo Salami was the highlight of the Dramatic Arts Student Association's initiation ceremony on Friday, January 23, 2026. Adebayo pledged a ₦1,000,000 donation to the department and announced a unique opportunity for two students.

During the event, which marked the formal induction of new Part I students at the department's Pit Theatre, Adebayo served as the ceremonial "initiation priest," offering an iconic figure for the new students to emulate.

In a move set to inspire the next generation of actors, Adebayo revealed that the top-performing male and female initiates would secure roles in the second season of his upcoming project, Seven Doors, scheduled for production later this year.

Addressing the new initiates, Adebayo charged them to uphold the prestige of the Dramatic Arts department. He shared a personal anecdote about his own background, noting that despite holding a law degree, he chose to pursue a career in theatre arts due to the high regard he has for the profession.

He encouraged the students to be proud of their chosen field and to maintain the standards expected of the department.
