Northwest University Kano Vice Chancellor Leads Delegation on Congratulatory Visit to BUK

The Vice Chancellor of Northwest University Kano (NWUK), Professor Mukhtar Atiku Kurawa, on Tuesday, led a high-powered delegation to Bayero University Kano (BUK) for a congratulatory visit to the newly sworn-in Vice Chancellor, Professor Haruna Musa Dambatta.

The visit, which took place at the Professor Abubakar Adamu Rasheed Senate Building, was marked by warmth, friendship, and renewed hopes for stronger collaboration between the two leading institutions.

The gesture was more than a formal courtesy; it was a reunion of two longstanding friends who share a deep academic bond. Professor Kurawa and Professor Musa have been close colleagues for over 37 years, beginning their journey together at the Department of Chemistry, where they both advanced from undergraduate studies to attaining the rank of professor.

Speaking during the visit, Professor Kurawa congratulated his counterpart and emphasized that as sister institutions, the doors of Northwest University Kano remain open for collaborative projects and academic partnerships. He prayed for the success of Professor Musa in his tenure as Vice Chancellor of Bayero University Kano.

In his welcome address, Professor Haruna Musa expressed delight at receiving the delegation, noting that Northwest University Kano was the first institution to officially visit him since his swearing-in. He described the gesture as a profound sign of friendship and institutional solidarity.

“Northwest University has set a precedent by being the first to visit me, and I truly appreciate this. Our doors at Bayero University will always remain open for collaboration, and I pray that this visit becomes the beginning of many fruitful engagements between our two universities,” he remarked.

The Bayero University Vice Chancellor also offered prayers for Professor Kurawa, wishing him a successful and impactful tenure at Northwest University Kano.

The NWUK delegation included key principal officers: Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic), Professor Aisha Garba Habib; Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration), Dr. Tijjani Rufa’i Buhari; Registrar, Adm. Isyaku Adamu; University Librarian, Dr. Karimatu Isa Maisango; Bursar, Malam Salmanu Muhammad Kibiya; Acting Director of Security, Bala Lawan K. Na’isa; and the Dean of Students’ Affairs, Dr. Ibrahim Musa, among others.

The visit emphasize not only the cordial relationship between the two Vice Chancellors but also the shared vision of both institutions to deepen academic cooperation and contribute to the advancement of higher education in Kano State and Nigeria at large.
