Northwest University VC Joins Humanities Faculty Board Meeting, Reaffirms Commitment to Academic Excellence

The Vice-Chancellor of Northwest University, Kano (NWUK), Professor Amina Salihi Bayero, on Thursday, 24 September 2026, attended the Faculty of Humanities Board Meeting convened to consider the results of the just-concluded First Semester of the 2025/2026 Academic Session.

The Vice-Chancellor’s presence at the meeting was a demonstration of her commitment to academic excellence and her determination to engage directly with the academic community.

Professor Amina actively participated in the deliberations and encouraged members of the Faculty to approach the consideration of the results with diligence, professionalism and a strong sense of responsibility. Her presence also served to boost the morale of the academic staff as they undertook the important task of reviewing and considering students’ academic performances.

The Vice-Chancellor also commended the Faculty of Humanities for its commitment and compliance with the University’s approved academic calendar, noting that adherence to the calendar is essential to the smooth and effective conduct of academic activities.

The visit reflects the Vice-Chancellor’s leadership approach of being directly involved in the University’s academic processes and maintaining close engagement with Faculties and their members.

According to the Vice-Chancellor, her attendance at the Humanities Faculty Board Meeting is just the beginning, as she intends to participate in Board Meetings of all Faculties across the University. The initiative is aimed at strengthening engagement between Management and Faculties, motivating academic staff and promoting a shared commitment to the advancement of the University.
