A high-level delegation from Nasarawa State University, Keffi has embarked on a nationwide mobilisation tour to strengthen institutional partnerships and rally support ahead of its Silver Jubilee celebrations and 8th Combined Convocation Ceremony.

A high-level delegation from Nasarawa State University, Keffi has embarked on a nationwide mobilisation tour to strengthen institutional partnerships and rally support ahead of its Silver Jubilee celebrations and 8th Combined Convocation Ceremony.

The delegation, representing Vice-Chancellor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, is led by Associate Professor K’tso Nghargbu, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research, Innovation, and Linkages). The initiative is positioned as a strategic outreach effort to deepen collaborations and broaden the university’s national and international footprint.

The anniversary and convocation events are scheduled to run from April 8 to April 11, 2026.

The tour began with a series of engagements across Nigeria’s North-West region, where the delegation held consultations with key stakeholders, including the Sultanate Council and the Governor of Sokoto State. A notable highlight was a meeting with Matthew Hassan Kukah, immediate past Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the university’s Governing Council.

Academic collaboration formed a central part of the engagements, with visits to Zamfara State University and Federal University Gusau, alongside other institutions.

As part of efforts to expand global partnerships, the delegation also engaged with multiple diplomatic missions, including the High Commissions of Kenya and Tanzania, and embassies representing Poland, Portugal, the Netherlands, Slovakia, Italy, France, the United Kingdom, the United States, Cuba, Romania, India, and Austria.

Further international outreach included visits to United Nations Development Programme Nigeria and United Nations Environment Programme, where discussions with Richard Munang focused on sustainable development and global cooperation.

The delegation also engaged with key government agencies to promote multi-sectoral collaboration. These included the Nigerian Geological Survey Agency, Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency, National Information Technology Development Agency, National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency, National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion, and the Solid Minerals Development Fund.

Additional consultations were held with the Raw Materials Research and Development Council and the National Institute for Pharmaceutical Research and Development.

In the private sector, the team engaged with Avatar Mining Company and Ganfeng Lithium, as well as leadership of the Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society.

The mobilisation tour reflects the university’s push to consolidate its legacy of academic impact while positioning itself for expanded collaboration as it marks 25 years of operation and prepares for a major convocation ceremony.
