NSUK VC Leads Stakeholders’ Dialogue, Intensifies Efforts to End ASUU Strike

The Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, has intensified efforts towards resolving the ongoing industrial dispute involving the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), convening a high-level stakeholders’ meeting to facilitate the early resolution of the one-month-old strike action.

The meeting, held on Monday, September 7, 2026, at the Council Chamber of the University, brought together the leadership of ASUU, including past and present leaders of the Union, as well as other relevant stakeholders.

The engagement, initiated by the Vice-Chancellor, provided a platform for frank, open and constructive discussions on the issues underlying the industrial action, with particular emphasis on finding practical and sustainable solutions that would restore normal academic activities.

Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, in her intervention, reiterated the commitment of the University Administration to constructive dialogue and peaceful engagement with all stakeholders, stressing the need for collective responsibility and understanding in resolving the impasse.

She underscored the importance of bringing the disruption of academic activities to an end in the overall interest of the University community, particularly the students whose studies have been affected by the prolonged strike.

The stakeholders carefully examined the issues surrounding the dispute and explored possible avenues for addressing them, with participants expressing willingness to sustain the dialogue and work collaboratively towards a lasting resolution.

The meeting ended on a positive note, with the leadership and stakeholders pledging to explore more practicable and workable approaches towards resolving the impasse within the shortest possible time.
