The Confluence University of Science and Technology has secured full accreditation for six engineering programmes from the National Universities Commission in what the institution described as a major milestone for its academic development.

Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Abdulrahman Asipita Salawu, announced the development while presenting the official accreditation letter issued by the commission and dated April 7, 2026.

The approval, signed by the NUC’s Director of Academic Accreditation, Engr. Abraham Chundusu, granted full accreditation status to the university’s programmes in Mining Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.

Speaking during the announcement at the university’s campus in Osara, Prof. Salawu described the accreditation as a strong validation of the institution’s commitment to academic quality, professional standards, and technological advancement.

He noted that the achievement reflected the collective efforts of the university’s management, academic staff, non-academic staff, and students toward building a competitive engineering faculty capable of meeting national and global demands.

The vice-chancellor particularly commended staff and students of the Faculty of Engineering for their dedication and resilience throughout the accreditation process.

Prof. Salawu also expressed appreciation to the Governor of Kogi State, Ahmed Usman Ododo, for what he described as sustained support for the growth and development of the university.

The accreditation is expected to strengthen the university’s position among emerging science and technology institutions in Nigeria, while boosting confidence among prospective students and industry stakeholders in the quality of its engineering education programmes.
