OAU Extends Hostel Stay for Students on Statutory Academic Activities

The Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, has announced an extension of stay in the University’s halls of residence for undergraduate students engaged in extended but statutory academic activities.

In a special release dated September 10, 2026, the Division of Student Affairs advised students participating in activities such as SIWES/SWEP, Teaching Practice, College Examinations, Farm Internship and other approved academic programmes to submit collated lists of eligible students to the Division of Student Affairs on or before Tuesday, September 15, 2026.

The lists must be endorsed by the authorised University officer, such as the Dean of the Faculty or Director of SIWES, as applicable.

The University stated that only students whose names appear on the submitted lists and who are currently residing in the University hostels will be considered for the extension.

During the extension period, male students will be accommodated only in the main blocks of Fajuyi Hall of Residence, while female students will be accommodated in Akintola Hall of Residence.

Each eligible student is required to pay ₦10,000 into the University account through Remita. Students are to submit the original University receipt to the Division of Student Affairs and a photocopy of the receipt at their respective halls of residence.

The University also advised affected students to be prepared to vacate the hostels one week before the resumption date for the new academic session.
