Fintech company, Opay ,has announced plans to provide N300,000 scholarships to 20 students of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria. Beyond scholarships, Opay has also expressed interest in undertaking infrastructural development projects within the university

Opay to Award N300,000 Scholarships to 20 ABU Students

 Fintech company, Opay ,has announced plans to provide N300,000 scholarships to 20 students of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria.

The company’s Chief Public Affairs Officer, Mr.Justin Zhang, made this disclosure during a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kabiru Bala. Zhang explained that the initiative is part of the company’s corporate social responsibility, adding that similar scholarships have been awarded to students of the University of Lagos and the University of Calabar in the past.

Beyond scholarships,Opay has also expressed interest in undertaking infrastructural development projects within the university. Zhang mentioned previous collaborations with the University of Lagos and the University of Calabar,where the company renovated some buildings.

In response, Professor Bala expressed gratitude for Opay’s support and highlighted potential areas for collaboration, including the renovation or expansion of the university health center, the improvement of facilities in the faculties of Engineering and Sciences,and the upgrade of ICT infrastructure.
