Students of the Pan-Atlantic University represented Nigeria at the 59th UNIV Conference in Rome, where they also paid a courtesy visit to the headquarters of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations.

During the visit, the delegation met with the Director-General of FAO, Dr. Qu Dongyu, and toured the newly inaugurated Food and Agriculture Museum and Network (FAO MuNe), a global educational initiative designed to bridge agricultural heritage with modern science and innovation.

The FAO MuNe platform was presented as an interactive learning hub that simplifies complex issues around food systems, agriculture, and sustainability. It combines historical perspectives with cutting-edge research to make global food challenges more accessible and actionable for visitors.

With its guiding slogan “Explore. Learn. Act.”, the initiative reinforces FAO’s broader mission of ending hunger and malnutrition by encouraging individuals and institutions to translate knowledge into practical solutions that support sustainable development.

The visit forms part of PAU’s international exposure strategy, positioning its students within global policy and development conversations, particularly in areas related to food security, innovation, and sustainable agriculture.
