Professor Ngozi Ikegwuonu Appointed Director of Igbo Language and Culture at COOU

Professor Ngozi Ikegwuonu, a distinguished linguist in the Department of Linguistics/Igbo Language, has been appointed as the new Director for Igbo Language and Culture at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU).

Prof. Ikegwuonu holds a PhD in Linguistics from the University of Calabar and an M.A. in Linguistics/Igbo from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. She previously served as Head of the Department of Linguistics/Igbo Language, where her leadership significantly enhanced the department’s academic reputation and visibility.

An active member of several scholarly bodies, Prof. Ikegwuonu is affiliated with the Linguistics Association of Nigeria (LAN), the Igbo Studies Association (ISA), and other professional associations dedicated to advancing research and scholarship in linguistics and Igbo studies.
