Rivers State Governor Appoints Pro-Chancellors for State Universities
The appointments, along with the selection of 10 other members for the RSU Governing Council and six for the IAUE Governing Council, were confirmed by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Tammy Danagogo. The appointments are effective immediately.
Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has appointed retired Supreme Court Justice Mary Odili and former Super Eagles striker Chief Adokiye Amasiemaka as Pro-Chancellors and Chairmen of Governing Councils for two state universities.
Justice Mary Odili, wife of former Governor Dr. Peter Odili, will serve as Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of Rivers State University (RSU). Meanwhile, Chief Adokiye Amasiemaka will assume the same role at Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUE).

The RSU Governing Council members include Barrister Mela Oforibika, Chukwuma Chinwo, Adata Bio-Briggs, Dr. Jonathan Nimi Hart, Ngo Martins-Yellowe, Dr. Robinson N. Ewoh, Dr. Nancy Nwankwo, Dr. Igoni William-Park, and Mr. Ogbugbu Samuel Barisua.

Similarly, the IAUE Governing Council members consist of Dr. Iboh Okidim, Professor Jason Osai, Professor Ijeoma F.V. Akpu, Dr. Akabue Godson Ugochukwu, Mrs. Mmeme Gogo-Adiari, and Hon. Dominic Sata.
These appointments mark a significant development in the leadership structure of the state's higher education institutions, reflecting the governor's commitment to advancing education in Rivers State.
