Senate Sanctions Nine Students Over Examination Malpractice at Al-Istiqama University

The Senate of Al-Istiqama University, Sumaila, Kano, has approved the rustication of nine students following their involvement in examination malpractice and plagiarism during the first semester of the 2025/2026 academic session.

The disciplinary action was announced in a Special Bulletin issued by the University Registry. According to the internal memo, the affected students were found guilty of violating established examination regulations. As a penalty, they have been rusticated for one academic session.

The University Management emphasized that the decision underscores its commitment to academic integrity and the enforcement of institutional standards. The Senate reiterated that Al-Istiqama University maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward all forms of academic dishonesty, including cheating and intellectual theft.
