SLUK Staff Wins Prestigious King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz International Award for Translation

Dr. Zaidu Jibril Muhammad, a staff member of the Department of Arabic at Sule Lamido University Kafin Hausa (SLUK), has made history by becoming the first African to win the 2025 King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz International Award for Translation.

Dr. Muhammad's achievement recognizes his outstanding work in translating the Arabic literary classic "Maqāmāt al-Ḥarīrī" into Hausa, titled "Dandalin Hikimomi".

The award acknowledges Dr. Muhammad's scholarly depth and cultural significance, highlighting his contribution to African scholarship and cross-cultural understanding. With a strong academic background, including a Ph.D in Arabic Language, Dr. Muhammad has authored four books and 15 articles published in national and international journals.
