SMS Alumni Express Solidarity with Kano State Polytechnic Following Central Library Fire
The executive members of the School of Management Studies (SMS) Alumni Association, led by President Comrade Kabiru Nasir Isah, MNIM, MCIA paid a condolence visit to the management of Kano State Polytechnic (KSP) to express sympathy following the recent fire that gutted the institution’s central library.
Comrade Kabiru described the incident as unfortunate, especially at a time when government, management and stakeholders are working hard to raise the Polytechnic’s standards.
He urged coordinated efforts to renovate and refurbish the library, noting its paramount importance to academic activities.
On behalf of all alumni, he prayed to Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala to prevent future occurrences and to replace what was lost with something better.
Receiving the delegation, the Rector, Dr. Abubakar Umar Farouk, FCA, thanked the association for the timely show of solidarity, calling the visit a strong testament to the alumni’s commitment to partnering with management for the institution’s progress.

Dr. Farouk said management has informed all relevant stakeholders about the development and reiterated the central role of the library in teaching, learning and research.
The Rector asked the association to urgently notify alumni in senior positions who might assist with reconstruction and replacement of lost facilities.
He also pledged his full support and cooperation to the association, noting with pride that he began his own academic journey as a Pre-ND student in the School of Management Studies and rose through ND and HND to his present role as Rector of the Institution.
