Sunusi Ibrahim Partners with FULafia to Boost Campus Sports Development

Nigerian football star Sunusi Ibrahim, currently playing for CF Montréal in Canada, has partnered with the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) to enhance sports development on campus. The collaboration aims to improve sports infrastructure and foster talent within the university community.  

The partnership was announced during a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of FULafia, Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, led by Professor Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu of the Department of Physics. Ibrahim expressed his enthusiasm for contributing to the university’s sports advancement, praising the vice-chancellor’s efforts in promoting sports activities.

Professor Abdul Rahman welcomed the initiative and highlighted the importance of sports in fostering physical well-being and holistic student development. He reaffirmed the university’s commitment to modernizing its sports facilities and directed the sports directorate to work closely with Ibrahim to explore opportunities for enhancing sporting activities.

Representing the sports directorate, Mr. Williams Auta expressed gratitude for the collaboration, noting its potential to improve athletic performance and inspire students.  

Born on October 1, 2002, in Keffi, Nasarawa State, Sunusi Ibrahim began his football career with FC Basira in Lafia before playing for Nasarawa United in the Nigerian Professional Football League. He is now a forward for Major League Soccer club CF Montréal. His partnership with FULafia is expected to inspire young athletes and contribute significantly to sports development in the university.
