Taraba State University Mass Communication Students Embark on Media Tour in Jos

Students from the Department of Mass Communication at Taraba State University (TSU) are currently undertaking a media tour exercise in Jos, Plateau State. The academic excursion aims to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical experience in media studies.
Led by Dr. Peter Ugondo, the team includes the Head of Department, Dr. Destiny Oberiri Apuke, and other lecturers. The tour features visits to prominent media institutions, such as Plateau Radio Television (PRTV), NTA Network Centre, and the Nigerian Standard Newspaper.
The students are gaining hands-on experience in professional media environments, including participation in chroma key production, an advanced video production technique. They are also scheduled to visit Unijos FM, NTA Television College, and the National Film Institute, where they will engage in interactive sessions with seasoned broadcasters, filmmakers, and media experts.
The excursion is designed to enhance the students' understanding of contemporary industry standards and professional ethics, while providing a networking opportunity to establish connections with media professionals and major industry players.
Dr. Ugondo emphasized that the tour aims to provide practical exposure to the workings of media organizations, familiarize students with the professional environment, and introduce them to industry best practices.
The Head of Department, Dr. Apuke, expressed gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor of Taraba State University, Prof. Sunday Paul Bako, and his management team for their support and provision of resources to ensure the success of the exercise.
