The Governing Council of Tai Solarin Federal University of Education (TASFUED) has announced the appointment of Prof. Samuel Ekundayo Oladipo as the institution’s new Vice-Chancellor.

The Governing Council of Tai Solarin Federal University of Education (TASFUED) has announced the appointment of Prof. Samuel Ekundayo Oladipo as the institution’s new Vice-Chancellor.

He becomes the 3rd indigenous and 6th substantive Vice-Chancellor of Nigeria’s premier university of education, with his tenure set to begin on May 5, 2026.  

Prof. Oladipo, a distinguished Professor of Social Psychology and foundation faculty member of TASUED, brings decades of academic excellence and administrative experience to the role. His appointment was confirmed at a Council meeting presided over by Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, Prof. Rahamon Adisa Bello, who praised his track record as a product of merit and dedication to the university’s founding ethos.

Since joining Tai Solarin College of Education in 1999, Prof. Oladipo has played pivotal roles in the institution’s growth, including serving as Chairman of the University Result Vetting Board, Pioneer Director of the Directorate of Research and External Relations, Pioneer Dean of the College of Specialized and Professional Education, and Deputy Director of Academic Planning, Quality Assurance and Research. He rose to the rank of Professor in 2014 and has held appointments at Adekunle Ajasin University and North-West University, South Africa.

A prolific scholar, Prof. Oladipo has authored over 70 peer-reviewed journal articles, 10 edited academic books, numerous book chapters, and more than 15 Christian publications. His research spans spirituality and health, gender-based violence, child abuse, and psychological scale development.  

Beyond academia, he is a pastor and mentor known for his discipline and commitment to excellence. Prof. Oladipo is married to Mrs. Christianah P. Oladipo, and their union is blessed with children.  

The Registrar and Secretary to Council, Sunday Oladapo Oke, confirmed the appointment in an official statement.
