The Vice-Chancellor of Tai Solarin Federal University of Education (TASFUED), Prof. Samuel Oladipo, MNPA, CMCPN, MCAN, FIELP, has described alumni as ambassadors, mentors, partners, investors and key stakeholders whose achievements around the world can create valuable opportunities for students and contribute significantly to the growth and development of the university.

Prof. Oladipo stated this when he received a distinguished alumnus of the university and Chief Executive Officer of USA-based Safeway Logistics and Global Resources, Prince Sikiru Adenuga, during a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor’s Office.

The visit was aimed at strengthening alumni engagement and fostering global partnerships for institutional development.

The Vice-Chancellor called on stakeholders, private organisations, philanthropists and alumni associations to cooperate with higher institutions in supporting government efforts to provide infrastructure, equipment and other resources capable of enhancing the quality, competitiveness and global ranking of Nigerian universities.

Prof. Oladipo reiterated his administration’s commitment to building a globally connected, innovative and industry-relevant institution. He also urged TASFUED alumni in Nigeria and across the world to reconnect with their alma mater and contribute meaningfully to its continued growth and development.

He emphasised that alumni contributions should go beyond financial support to encompass scholarships, mentorship, internships, research collaborations, technology transfer, equipment donations and corporate partnerships.

The visit also provided an opportunity to explore strategic collaboration between TASFUED and Safeway Logistics and Global Resources, a company specialising in US-Nigeria vehicle importation, freight forwarding and international logistics.

Responding, Prince Adenuga expressed his commitment to supporting the development of his alma mater and mobilising other successful TASFUED alumni in the diaspora to contribute their expertise, networks and resources towards the advancement of the university.

The delegation also included Mr. Oyenuga Olasunkanmi Ayodeji, Business Manager of TTI-HUB Ltd., the university’s indigenous technology hub, and Dr. Adewale Kayode, a Lecturer at the College of Specialised and Professional Studies Education (COSPED) and Ogun State Education Ambassador.

Their participation broadened discussions around technology integration, industry partnerships, entrepreneurship and innovation-driven development.
