Theatre Arts Department Honors NSUK VC Saadatu As Cultural Ambassador.
The Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Professor Sa'adatu Hassan Liman has been honoured as the Cultural Ambassador of the Department of Theatre and Cultural Studies.
Professor Sa'adatu was honoured on Saturday 14th September 2024 during the 2024 Creative and Cultural Entrepreneurship Workshop organised by the Department of Theatre and Cultural Studies at the Theatre Arts Complex of the University.
In her remarks, the Vice-Chancellor applauded the Department for organizing the Entrepreneurship Workshop. she noted that it will inspire and equip students with entrepreneurial skills, particularly in the field of cultural industry anywhere in the world. Also the workshop will encourage students to explore innovative business ideas that integrate cultural heritage, creativity, and economic opportunities.
She urged the Department to synergise with the Entrepreneurship Development Centre on branding and marketing of products showcased at the workshop. She also highlighted the commitment of the University’s Management towards initiating more entrepreneurial programs and hubs to develop students to be self-sufficient and employers of labour. She further added that the program has displayed the unity and diverse cultures across different faculties and departments.
Also speaking at the event, His Royal Highness, the Odyong Nyankpa Barrister Joel Aninge emphasized on the need that students should hold on to their cultural heritage which has been in existence before the western culture. He commended the Faculty of Arts for producing the first female Vice Chancellor to champion the affairs of Nasarawa State University, Keffi.
In his address, the Chairman of the event Commissioner of Police, Miller Dantawaya also commended the effort of the Department for organizing the workshop and also pledged to support networking opportunities for students.
