Thomas Adewumi University Students Win Inter-University Debate Competition at Fountain University

Students of Thomas Adewumi University (TAU) have emerged winners at the NUASA Inter-University Debate Competition held at Fountain University, Osogbo, Osun State, marking another academic milestone for the institution.

The competition featured students from multiple universities and centered on the topic: “Financial Statement Can No Longer Be Completely Trusted in Modern Corporations.”

Representing the Department of Accounting and Finance, the TAU team delivered a strong performance characterized by analytical depth, structured argumentation, and effective teamwork. Their presentation earned them a score of 76%, surpassing Fountain University’s 70%, and securing them the overall victory.

According to organizers, participants were assessed based on content quality, delivery style, strategic reasoning, and collaboration. The judging panel, comprising lecturers from the participating institutions, commended the winners for their clarity of thought and persuasive argumentation.

The university described the achievement as a reflection of its commitment to academic excellence, intellectual development, and leadership training, noting that the victory further strengthens its reputation in competitive academic engagements.

The winning students were also awarded certificates in recognition of their performance and participation.
