Thomas Adewumi University has received a delegation from the Medical Rehabilitation Therapists Board of Nigeria (MRTBN) for the indexing of 300-level Physiotherapy students and the professional examinations of 500-level students in the Department of Physiotherapy.

The delegation included Prof. Adeshola Ojoawo of Obafemi Awolowo University, Prof. Patrick Yusuf, and Dr. Raji Taofeek from the MRTBN. They were received by the Head of Department of Physiotherapy, Dr. Saliu G. Akinwale, who formally introduced them to key university officials, including the Registrar, Mr. Fisoye O. Kolawole, the Bursar, Mrs. Rachael O. Afolabi, and the Dean of the Faculty of Basic Medical and Health Sciences, Prof. Emenike O. Irokanulo, who represented the Vice-Chancellor.

During the opening session, Prof. Irokanulo welcomed the delegation and emphasized the importance of the indexing exercise and professional examinations in strengthening clinical competence and preparing students for professional practice in the healthcare sector. He noted that both theoretical and practical components had been adequately prepared for, adding that the examinations were structured on a 50/50 assessment model covering theory and clinical performance. He also expressed appreciation to the visiting team for their oversight and commitment to maintaining professional standards.

In his remarks, Prof. Ojoawo commended Thomas Adewumi University for its rapid institutional development, describing the learning environment and facilities as impressive and aligned with contemporary standards for health sciences education.
