UDUS Appoints Professor Tukur Adamu as Deputy Vice Chancellor

The Governing Council of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUS) has announced the appointment of Professor Tukur Adamu as the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research, Innovation, and Development), effective from the 171st regular meeting held on Wednesday, March 12, 2025.

 

Professor Adamu, a renowned academic in Parasitology, brings over three decades of experience to his new role. His academic career spans various positions, including Graduate Assistant, Lecturer, and Professor, which he attained in 2005.

In addition to his academic achievements, Professor Adamu has held several administrative positions, including Head of Biological Sciences, Deputy Dean, Director of the School of Matriculation Studies, and Chairman of the Management Board of UDUS's Centre for Open and Distance Education.

 

As Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research, Innovation, and Development), Professor Adamu is expected to play a pivotal role in enhancing research, innovation, and development at UDUS. His leadership is anticipated to foster a dynamic academic environment, drive research excellence, and strengthen the university's reputation as a hub for scholarly advancement.

Professor Adamu's appointment is for an initial term of two years, in line with the Universities (Miscellaneous) Provisions Act, 1993 (as amended).
