UI Lecturer Professor Chioma C. Asuzu Elected President of International Psycho-Oncology Society

Professor Chioma C. Asuzu, a renowned clinical psychologist and psycho-oncologist, has been elected President of the International Psycho-Oncology Society (IPOS). She is currently affiliated with the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan.

Professor Asuzu's expertise lies in clinical psychology, psycho-oncology, and palliative care. She has held various leadership positions within IPOS and is the Foundation President of the Psycho-oncology Society of Nigeria (POSON) and Association for Psycho-Oncology in Africa (APOA).

As President of IPOS, Professor Asuzu will lead a global community of professionals working to improve the psychological and social aspects of cancer care. Her vision is to enhance psycho-oncology services worldwide, particularly in low-resource settings.
