UMTH Family Medicine Department Visits Al-Ansar University VC to Mark World Family Doctor Day

In commemoration of World Family Doctors Day, the Family Medicine Department of the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH) paid a courtesy visit to the Acting Vice-Chancellor of Al-Ansar University, Maiduguri, Prof. Fanna Inna Abdulrahman.

The visit highlighted the vital role of family physicians in promoting quality healthcare, preventive medicine, and community wellbeing. It also reflected the strong and growing relationship between Al-Ansar University and UMTH through the existing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which continues to strengthen collaboration in research, medical training, academic development, and professional exchange.

During the interaction, the Acting Vice-Chancellor appreciated the delegation for the thoughtful visit and commended the contributions of family doctors to healthcare delivery and medical education. She further emphasized the importance of sustained institutional partnerships, noting that AUM students greatly benefit from the collaboration through research opportunities, clinical exposure, and academic engagements at UMTH.
