UNIABUJA Acting Vice-Chancellor Receives Medal-Winning Sports Team

The Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University of Abuja (UNIABUJA), Professor Mathew Adamu, today received the University’s sports team, which won 12 medals at the recently concluded Nigerian Universities Games Association (NUGA) competition held in Jos.

The Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University of Abuja (UNIABUJA), Professor Mathew Adamu, today received the University’s sports team, which won 12 medals at the recently concluded Nigerian Universities Games Association (NUGA) competition held in Jos.

Adamu congratulated the athletes on their outstanding performance and assured them that the University Management would duly recognise and celebrate their achievement.

He urged the team to continue working hard, noting that their success had further strengthened the University’s prospects in future sporting tournaments.

He said, “On behalf of Council, Senate, and the entire University community, we congratulate you for doing us proud. We shall fix a date to specially honour you for this remarkable performance. Let us not go to sleep; keep the flag flying. You made us proud when we hosted the preliminaries, and now you have gone to Jos to win 12 medals. We celebrate you.”

The Director of Sports, Professor Vicky Sylvester, thanked the University Management for its continuous support and commended the athletes for their discipline and determination throughout the competition.

She added that, with sustained support and early talent development, the University of Abuja was set to achieve even greater results at future competitions.
