The University of Abuja (UNIABUJA) community today witnessed the groundbreaking of a 1,152-bed capacity female hostel, a project being developed through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) with Royal Dynasty Homes Ltd.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Hakeem Babatunde Fawehinmi, described the project as a critical step in addressing the university’s accommodation shortfall. With a student population of approximately 40,000 and fewer than 7,000 currently accommodated on campus, the new hostel will help bridge the gap and enhance student welfare.
Igbekele Aremo, MD/CEO of Royal Dynasty Homes Ltd, expressed gratitude to the university for the partnership and committed to delivering modern, world-class student housing, emphasizing the project’s role in supporting quality education through safe and conducive living environments.
Yusuf Jamiu Tobi, leader of the Student Union Government (SUG), applauded the initiative and assured full student support for the successful completion of the hostel. He noted that improved accommodation is key to elevating both student welfare and academic performance.

This project marks a significant milestone in UNIABUJA’s efforts to provide adequate housing and enhance the overall campus experience.
