UNIABUJA Hosts NUC Accreditation Teams for Eight Academic Programmes
The University of Abuja (UNIABUJA) received teams from the National Universities Commission (NUC) today as part of the November/December 2025 accreditation exercise covering eight academic programmes.
The University of Abuja (UNIABUJA) received teams from the National Universities Commission (NUC) today as part of the November/December 2025 accreditation exercise covering eight academic programmes.

The accreditation review will focus on the Bachelor of Science (BSc) programmes in Biochemistry, Zoology, Medical Laboratory Science, and Journalism and Media Studies. Additionally, the exercise will assess the University’s programmes in Development and Communication Studies, Broadcasting, Film and Multi-Media Studies, and Information and Media Studies.
Welcoming the NUC teams to the campus, the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mathew Adamu, expressed the University’s eagerness for the panel’s feedback. He stated, “The University is open for you to see what we have. We certainly have our strengths and weaknesses. Please carry out a good SWOT analysis so that we can identify where to build on and how to improve our system.”

Representing the NUC teams, Professor Sammy Sam-Wobo of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, assured that the panels would conduct their assessments with due diligence, in full compliance with NUC regulations. He emphasized that accreditation exercises are meant to strengthen university systems for enhanced performance and pledged that the teams would uphold the highest standards of integrity throughout the process.
