The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Abuja (UNIABUJA), Professor Hakeem Babatunde Fawehinmi, has received the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Commissioner of Police, CP Miller Dantawaye, on a courtesy visit aimed at strengthening security collaboration and enhancing campus safety.

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Abuja (UNIABUJA), Professor Hakeem Babatunde Fawehinmi, has received the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Commissioner of Police, CP Miller Dantawaye, on a courtesy visit aimed at strengthening security collaboration and enhancing campus safety.

During the visit, Professor Fawehinmi noted that the engagement provides an opportunity for the University to reassess its existing security architecture and adopt a more proactive and responsive approach to safeguarding lives and property within the campus. He assured the Commissioner that the University Management remains fully committed to working closely with the Nigeria Police Force to maintain a safe, secure, and conducive learning environment for students, staff, and visitors.

CP Dantawaye explained that the visit formed part of his command’s ongoing tour of tertiary institutions across the FCT, designed to deepen security partnerships and improve crime prevention strategies within academic communities. He reaffirmed the Police Command’s unwavering commitment to the protection of lives and property, stressing the importance of sustained cooperation between security agencies and university authorities.

As part of the visit, the Commissioner conducted an on-the-spot assessment of key security posts across the campus, accompanied by the University’s Chief Safety Officer, Wing Commander Cerrone Doko Waziri (retd.).
