UNILAG VC Appoints Research Prof. Luqman Yusuff as Director, Institute of African and Diaspora Studies
The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Professor Folasade Ogunsola, OON, FAS, has approved the appointment of Research Professor Luqman Ayodele Yusuff as the substantive Director of the Institute of African and Diaspora Studies (IADS).
The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Professor Folasade Ogunsola, OON, FAS, has approved the appointment of Research Professor Luqman Ayodele Yusuff as the substantive Director of the Institute of African and Diaspora Studies (IADS).
His appointment takes effect from August 1, 2025, and will run for a two-year term ending July 31, 2027.

Prior to this confirmation, Research Prof. Yusuff served in an acting capacity from May 2, 2025, to July 31, 2025. The new role marks a continuation of his leadership at the institute, where he has already contributed significantly to academic research and cross-cultural studies.
