UNILORIN VC Prof. Wahab Egbewole, SAN, Meets UBEC Executive Secretary to Boost Basic Education

 In a strategic move to enhance foundational learning, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), Professor Wahab Egbewole, SAN, paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Secretary of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), Aisha Garba, on Friday, March 6, 2026.

The high-level meeting focused on fostering a stronger partnership between the university and the commission, specifically seeking vital support for the University School.

Professor Egbewole emphasized that collaborating with UBEC is essential to upgrading the infrastructure and learning environment for younger scholars. The initiative aims to create a "seamless bridge" between basic education and higher learning, ensuring that students are well-prepared before entering the university system.

The visit aligns with UNILORIN’s "Better by Far" mantra, prioritizing the holistic development of its educational ecosystem—from its primary and secondary arms to its tertiary research hubs.
