UNIMAID Excels at NUGA Games, Clinches Multiple Medals
The University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) finished 14th out of 60 universities at the recently concluded Nigeria University Games Association (NUGA) event hosted by the University of Jos, Plateau State.
The University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) finished 14th out of 60 universities at the recently concluded Nigeria University Games Association (NUGA) event hosted by the University of Jos, Plateau State.
UNIMAID athletes delivered outstanding performances, securing four gold medals in the following events:
- Women’s 3000 metres
- Men’s 20km walk race
- Women’s Taekwondo
- Women’s Judo

In addition, the university earned several bronze medals across a range of competitions, including:
- Women’s Judo (Open Weight)
- Women’s Judo (Heavyweight)
- Men’s Basketball
- Women’s Taekwondo (Team Event)
- Women’s Taekwondo
- Men’s Hockey
- Women’s Hockey
- Men’s Cricket Five (5) Aside
- Men’s Cricket Eleven (11) Aside
