UNIPORT Congratulates Prof. Fawehinmi on University of Abuja Appointment

The University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) community congratulates Professor Hakeem Babatunde Fawehinmi on his appointment as Substantive Vice-Chancellor of the University of Abuja, effective February 10, 2026.

A distinguished alumnus and esteemed academic, Prof. Fawehinmi has served UNIPORT in various capacities, including Head of Anatomy Department, Dean of Basic Medical Sciences, and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic). His leadership and academic excellence have earned him national and international recognition, including fellowships with the Royal Anthropological Institute and Academy of Medicine Specialties of Nigeria.
