UNIPORT Debunks Reports of Snake Sighting on Campus

The University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) has denied reports of a snake sighting and killing on its campus, labeling the claims as false and misleading.

In a statement released on September 16, 2024, the university's spokesperson, Dr. Sam Kpenu, clarified that no such incident occurred.

The university had been reacting to an online report suggesting a large snake was found and killed in one of its hostels and classrooms. However, Dr. Kpenu assured the public that the institution remains safe, with staff and students going about their normal activities.

UNIPORT has zero tolerance for cultism, bullying, and any form of violence or disruptive behavior on campus. The university's management has taken steps to monitor and address false information, ensuring the safety and well-being of its students and staff .
